Monica Bellucci's MISSION CLEOPATRE out on July 14

For fans of Monica Bellucci...I just got a e-newsletter from Fox UK and they will be releasing ASTERIX & OBELIX: MISSION CLEOPATRE on July 14.

Specs should be announced soon!

Expect it to be dub only...I don't think English subtitle rights were licensed to a single distributor for the film...ugh. There are however english subs available via pc...

The email only indicates the date....no specs yet....so we'll see!

I have a lot of confidence though that there will be indeed subs provided. The recent Korean r3 release has Korean subs so....let's hope!

This isn't based on that old cartoon, is it..?

And is she in it longer than she was in Brotherhood Of the Wolf..?

It has been available for quite some time here:

http://www.dvdasian.com/cgi-bin/dvda...l?mv_arg=15419

however as I said above...IT HAS NO ENGLISH SUBS. Wait either for the R1 (no one knows when) or the upcoming R2.

i saw this in the theater last summer. This is a PG flick geared towards younger audience. Monica's in it just as long as she was in BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF. Some nifty CG, mildly entertaining story, Monica in revealing costume (including a quick buttcrack shot... only in a French movie can you get away with that and still get a PG rating), and a funny spoof of '70s dubbed kung fu flick towards the end of the movie.

It's already out in R1, having had it's french only release in Quebec. 2 disc SE like the French Pal disc. Who knows if there is another licensee for the US, or non-Quebec Canada for that matter, or if the same company holds options on both...hmm. Ironic given the wealth of language options on the animated series...

Actually MiramAxe owns the rights for the US and will run ("a limited release"????) around the country.....which means that later rather than sooner we shall see a dvd release with English subs......until then Fox UK should be ok to give us a release containing subs.

R2 was already released last year in 5.1 and DTS, both in French.

well.....OBVIOUSLY this thread is for English speakers mainly. I am well aware that there is a French disc, a few R2 versions as a matter of fact, (quite good I shall add) but no English subs are available....Lets see what the British market gets.....

The English language version of the first film in the series, ASTERIX AND OBELIX TAKE ON CAESAR was prepared by Terry Jones who also does the voice of Obelix (there's nothing like hearing Terry Jones' voice come out of Gerard Depardieu's mouth). I wonder if he's involved in the new one.

Looks like you can preorder ASTERIX AND OBELIX TAKE ON CAESAR from blackstar.co.uk for only £5.99 + £1.40 shipping.

Could be a misprice since most other online retailers are showing a price around £15.99, so you might want to preorder it soon. Although, I thought this DVD was already available, so maybe the price is being reduced.

Does anyone know if it's going to have English subs and a French audio track as well, or just the Eng dub?
