Best British Science Fiction?

So me and a room-mate got in an, how shall we say - heated argument about the best science fiction show to come out of england. Actually, the discussion was about the SECOND best show, since we agreed that Doctor Who ruled over all.

Being that I have nothing better to do during lunch, I thought I'd pose the question to you guys.

I guess I can't speak for all of them, but I would go with Dr. Who first and Blake's 7 second.

I really wish Blake would make it's way to DVD, I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Actually I debated that - is the Prisoner truly science fiction? It does have some SF trappings - rover and the like - but I wouldn't put it in with the others I listed. I'd put that more in under spy/thriller/esponage/psychological mind-funk with sci-fi underpinnings than straight science fiction.

The Prisoner was the first thing I thought of, and came in to vote for it.

MartyMcSuperfly, using your reasoning, do you consider movies like Equilibrium, Gattaca, & Minority Report sci-fi?

The Prisoner, Doctor Who, Blake 7, Red Dwarf in that order I really like Red Dwarf hilarious stuff when you need to tickle your funny bone. When your brain needs a workout pop in The Prisoner everytime I watch that show I always pickup something new I missed. As for Doctor Who and Blake 7 good writing and drama even though the sci-fi props were kind of cheesey.
