Ash-anyone seen this band live or heard their cds?

I'm really loving their new disc and they'll be here tomorrow night. I'm thinking of going to the show. Anyone got an opinion on the band?

I think that Free All Angels is a very, very good album. From what I hear, they are incredible live. Moby loved them so much that he insisted that they play on the Area:Two tour. I will be seeing them in June.

You should definitely go. I'll planning on checking them out in Portland at the end of the month. Heck, I'd go just to see them play "Kung Fu" live.

The best pop band in the world. I have no idea why they're not huge everywhere. I saw them live last year, it was great!

Thanks for motivating to go!

Just got back from the show. Excellent! Lots of energy from the lead singer, Tim Wheeler. They played several new songs tonight. There were probably 150-200 at the show.

I snagged Charlotte's set list and will print it below for those that are interested. If you want to be surprised, ignore it.

Spoiler:

Lose Control
Cherry Bomb
Girl From Mars
Orpheus

Goldfinger
Shining Light
Renegade
Jack Names (you know the rest)

Walking Barefoot
Evil Eye
Sometimes
Envy

A Life Less Ordinary
Kung Fu

encore-Burn Baby Burn

They're selling t-shirts, button, stickers, poster and two cds. "Free All Angels" w/bonus DVD for $10 and a special tour only CD EP called "Satellite Transmissions Vol. 1." which I bought. The poster is free with any purchase.

Terrific band! Terrific songs! If you have a multi-region DVD player check out their concert DVD, "Tokyo Blitz":

I've seen them live around five times, here and in the UK, they are a blast - great aggro-pop songs. Also pick up their 1977 album - essential for all ASH fans. Drat Buford, they don't sing

Sorry I didn't look that close. None of the designs grabbed my eye enough for a second look. They weren't bad, but nothing I would probably wear since I already have way too many t-shirts. One said "rawk school" w/a guitar-that was the one I liked best. They were all $15 which isn't terrible.

I remember back in 1995 when Pearl Jam asked them to tour with them.

The response: "Sorry, we have to study for our exams".

"Girl From Mars" is one of the best songs. Ever.

I piicked up the deluxe Free All Angels for less than 2 bucks... Wherehouse 90% off... what a find!

I saw them a while ago, during their NU-CLEAR SOUNDS tour. Great, powerful show.

They put out a single collection recently ("Intergalactic 7's") which is, IMO, a very good and complete summary of their career.

4. Taken Out
5. 13th Floor
6. Stormy Waters
7. Message From Oscar Wilder and Patrick The Brewer
8. Who You Drivin Now?
9. Stay In Love Forever
10. The Sweetness of Death by the Obsidian Knife
11. Melon Farmer
12. Nocturne
13. Gabriel
14. Coasting
15. Lose Control
16. I Need Somebody
17. Sneaker
18. Cantina Band
19. Astral Conversations with Toulouse Lautrec
20. Day of the Triffids
21. Halloween
22. Thinking About You

albeit a really short set, any die-hard ASH fan like myself was extremely disappointed, this upcoming headlining tour is long overdue and should be great!

Weezer was awful on the Pinkerton tour? Did they play the Hash Piper? Didn't Ash play with them on that tour? How were they?
