Activision Likes PSP

From http://www.pspinsider.com

In an interview with Reuters, Bobby Kotick of Activision expressed his eagerness to work on the new platform, which he referred to as a “slam dunk” as compared to the soon to be released Nokia N-Gage. Kotick believes that the N-Gage will be more of a “we’ll have to see” platform, while he has full confidence in the ability of the PSP to be a complete success in the portable gaming market. Kotick also mentioned that he would possibly like to bring classic Playstation games to the new portable device, which could include games from the popular Tony Hawk Pro Skater series.
I wonder if Sony has a working demo that they are showing developers? I mean, even if it is the size of a shoebox, don't you think Activision would have to see something before making a comment like this?

I am sure they already have dev kits. Most places get those about 1.5 years before a system is launched so there can be a fair amount of titles out.

Sony said Dev Kits are being shipped at the end of this summer. Makes me think that maybe they had a back room meeting showing off what it looks like so far.

The N-Gage and Tapwave are never going to fly. The PSP is the only chance for a serious contender to Nintendo's handheld dominance.

Sony can get the support it needs to really compete.
