This show seems to slide under the radar for the most part, but I thought I'd start a thread for this episode.

I only started watching it about 4-5 weeks ago but it's grown on me pretty quickly. I enjoyed it first just due to the time it's set in, but as I've watched I've gotten involved with the characters as well.

I don't know much about the civil rights movement, but it seems they're doing a great job of portraying how life is different both sides and the interaction between Jack's and Henry's families. Couldn't believe Henry got arrrested this episode, but I guess that's the way things were and the show isn't going to pull any punches.

Any other opinions about this overlooked show?

Well, I for one really enjoy it because I think the way they use dialogue on this show is rather inventive (Although it can be a bit distracting at times), and yes, I did notice the HUGE contrast between Jack's and Henry's families, and the whole racial thing seems to be reaching a boiling point. There even appears to be more racial tension in next week's episode.

And even though I feel sorry for Meg and Roxanne, I'm kind of glad Meg got dropped by those snotty kids, but I would have preferred to see her drop them instead.

Yeah - I was wondering why the city didn't turn the hydrants on. I remember that being commonplace in Baltimore on hot days when I grew up back in the 70s and 80s.

The conflict within Sam is once again the most intriguing part of this show.
