I think the Japanese may have a thing or two to say about that statement!

Anyway..it's certainly a nice looking package that hopefully isn't marred by the actual audio/visual qualities of the discs.

Chris,

It would be great if you could do some screenshots, so we can see how the picture quality is compared to the Criterion or MK2 DVD sets.

Thanks

Not strictly the same!..i believe the Korean set is as titled 'Periodical' and therefore contains only two of the films found in the 'Antoine Doinel Boxset' and whilst i do like Criterion's pseudo-suitcase packaging style i have to say i prefer the Korean 'ring binder' type presentation...it maybe that the transfers are direct ports of the MK2 French releases and thereby won't be too shoddy either.
It would have been a nice touch if it was a larger type binder whereby with regard to the inevitable future volumes..you need only buy chapter type inserts housing the discs to insert into the package etc.

As this package is primarily produced for the korean market i think it is a safe bet that the majority of the book, bar the title on the cover, is mainly in korean.

Out of interest...i believe the films in this set and the Fellini set... where applicable...are direct ports of the Criterion editions...how does this come about exactly...are these korean releases essentially 'unauthorised' and therefore can be considered 'bootlegs'?

Thats true until you factor in the price as Jap releases are always 2-3 times more plus no eng subs!
