What's your biggest "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" memory?

I'm listening to the radio and Blue Oyster Cult: "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" is playing.

There's two main things that have made this song more popular in a cultish way (pun?).

What's your biggest memory of the song?

I've known the song for as long as I can remember, so there is no definitive memory for me.

Easy guys, I put my pants on like the rest of you: one leg at a time. Except, once my pants are on, I make gold records.

Definitely The Stand. It was the perfect song to open that mini-series with. Everytime I see it, I'm glad they used that song.

I have no particular memory but like the song and the band. (Thinking man's rock says I, presumptiously!)

I hope to see them at a small UK venue within the next few weeks. Maybe I'll post about it in the Music Forum afterwards! And, yes, I know that their oeuvre ain't all like that: I've been a fan a long time - although not quite since Soft White Underbelly days!

I was a the library in '79 or '80, had picked up the BOC record and put it on. Very cool music, BOC became my favorite band during the 80s.

No particular memories exactly. I can recall over the past 10 years or so hearing this song and thinking that it's one of the few Classic Rock or Dinoband songs that actually still sounds pretty good today.

Definitely my "Don't Fear the Reaper" moment. The movie was okay...if that. But that song was so prevalent during the film that the tune felt like a classic...even if I didn't consider it to be one before.
