I'm assuming the "real" release will be in November again?

Since when was this news?

I've heard that August something was always going to be the 2-disc release and November would be the 4-disc EE release. In any case, I think I'll wait the month and a half for the EE.

Yep, the august release will be a 2-disc SE of the theatrical cut and November will be the Extended Cut and likely 4-discs again.

No, it covered everything for FOTR. Watch more closely, they didn't talk about anything in TTT or ROTK.

Yeah I guess your right the other 2 films were barely mentioned

I was thinking about all the costumes and props they talked about and assumed they were the same for all 3 films

Isn't this release date ALOT later than the one from last year? I thought FOTR was released on Aug. 6th. I'm glad to finally have a date to look fwd to, but it stinks that it is almost three wks later than last time (if I remember correctly).

I'd call you crazy if you didn't buy both. With the significant changes that the EE represents, the two DVDs are really two different movies. If you enjoyed the theatrical release, then the only way you will get to see it is if you buy the theatrical DVD.

Besides, I am such a pathetic Tolkien completist that not buying both would probably send me into catatonic shock!

I'm waiting for the EE. The only reason I got the 2 disc last time was someone bought it for me out of the blue. I'll rent it and check out the extras and watch the movie once to hold me over.
