Ramones Appreciation Thread

They past weekend on a whim I downloaded some Ramone's MP3s and was really impressed and went out and bought the self-titled debut, and WOW! The songs are great! Some are funny, some are meanacing, some are sweet, and some are rediculous, whatever the style a lot of the songs are now wedged in my brain. I will probably buy "End of the Century" when I am home for Easter because I really enjoy the song "Do You Remember Rock 'N' Roll Radio?"

I just wanted to show my new gushing appreciation for the boys from Queens!

That's cool Brain Stew.... there aren't too many pre-mid-80's Ramones CD's I strongly dislike, but "End of the Century" is not my fave. The first four are all great. I also really like "Subterranean Jungle" and "Too Tough to Die".

Anyway, good stuff. It would be fun to hear these songs for the first time again!

"One of us, one of us!!"

Welcome to the family Brain Stew! The Ramones are gods! Get "It's Alive" and the first four studio albums. After that we'll discuss the more complex nuances and intricacies of the latter day Ramones. It's all good, but their true essence is found in the aforementioned albums.

Glad you discovered the boys (better late than never!)
Of course, that makes me feel incredibly old, but I'll get over it.

I remember seeing them at Knox College in Galesburg,IL, circa 1980, in a little tiny theater. One of my truly fondest rock concert memories...

Judy is a Punk. I love the Ramones.... and my mom's name is Judy, so that's partly why I love that song.
