Has the economy changed your DVD buying habits?

It has mine. I hardly go to the stores anymore. Too much to buy and so little money to spend.

YES. I now buy more because that is what I do when I'm depressed. my company is a little slow right now...but hey...the tips, remember? dont know how long it will last....my current wad is about shot. didnt book any jobs today which is tragic, but my buisiness always picks up the last half of the month. now if the IRS would get off my back....things would be even better.

Not really. &nbsp I never got into the habit of buying tons of DVDs every week. &nbsp Heck, sometimes I go for weeks without a purchase.

That'd be spending your paycheck on the way out of the door.

This year, I've been picking up more DVDs due to picking up some good sales and deals. Moreso than my previous years.

The lack of titles I want has slowed down my buying more than the economy.

I've actually bought more, I think Columbia House has a bit to do with that though.

The lack of titles I want is the main reason for me. My work has been slower but that is because the food distributor I work for was bought a few years ago and they bought our competitor, so as of June the first we will be merged into their building. Which might mean more hours and better pay for me in the long run.

Yep - my purchases are 'way down. I used to be an IT project manager until mid-2001. As some of you have stated, I work at Best Buy - no joke. I can't afford the sprees I used to have - picking up $400 of discs in a month at the least doesn't happen any more.

All these Canadians might have something to do with the fact the Canadian economy has grown...

My DVD buying habits have not changed. The only time they did was post-Jaboom/Magic Bus. Before then... wow... I could buy a ton of stuff. Now, I don't.

Me too. I have a little more money than last year, but I've also just found it easier to find discs for great prices this year, PLUS, since I was poor for awhile last summer, a lot of the great discs that I had to pass on when they came out just had huge price reductions, making picking them up for a third of the cost that many paid for "deals" when they first came out a real treat.

I mean, Total Recall SE for $6.42 shipped? I'm so there.

And the Rambo boxed set $20 at DDD... and the Tarantino releases from Miramax - half the price they first streeted at.

Plus, I think the depression of the cold and looking for an alternative to watching the war has prompted a lot of purchases. I tend to buy more DVDs during the winter and spring months for some reason.

Ding Ding! We have a winner!

But, we've refinanced and our PMI went down, so our payment has been reduced by $100 in the first year, plus we're about to get our first raises and bonuses at work in about 2 years. I'll find out on the 15th what my DVD buying will be doing.

My DVD buying habits have changed the ecomnomy! From 1997 until around mid-2001, I replaced every VHS tape I could. The past year and a half has been pretty slow for me. Too many obligations are getting in the way of my DVD habit!
