Toy Story Ultimate vs Pixar TS, TS2, BL

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if the movie transfers of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are the same in the Ultimate Toy Box and the 3-disc package of Toy Story, Toy Story 2, and A Bug's Life. Also, is the transfer of A Bug's Life the same in this 3-disc package as the upcoming SE? I am not really interested in the extras, and if the picture and sound quality is the same, I am tempted to get the 3-movie package.

I don't know if the transfers are the same on the Toy Story movies. But the discs are different. The Ultimate Toy Box versions have a lot more extras on on them than any other version. That's in addition to the third disc.

As for A Bug's Life, I think only the existing Collector's Edition and the new one coming up are anamorphic. I'm pretty sure the one in the 3-pack is non-anamorphic.

The Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box is incredible, do not miss this before Disney puts it back in the vault.

The only anamorphic Bug's Life transfer is on the 2 disc set. I assume the upcoming re-release is just a repackaging of that, so you should be alright waiting for that one.

The extras on both of these are extremely interesting, even if you're not into extras. Keep in mind that the guys at Pixar are absolute movie fans. There's no fluff pieces where everybody pats each other on the back, there's just a lot of indepth stuff on all these movies and the workings of Pixar.

Yeah, the Toy Box is amazing, but it did help spoil me for Disney special editions. Between it and the Fantasia box I pretty much know everything I'd ever want to know about animated film production.

Another good reason to love it is they don't fill half the disks with a bunch of damn games to keep the kiddies entertained. :P
