Snl 03.15.2003

So...is Christina Aguilera trying to look like Christina Applegate on purpose..?

This is dreadful..so far..[yeah, like there's a chance it'll get better..]

The only thing saving it is Salma's body..

I thought the show was pretty good, no big laughs but the skits were okay.

Best sketch was the "Top o the Morning" with William Fitzpatrick and Patrick Fitzwilliam. I also love Maya Rudolph as Donatella Versace. Fericito from WU is growing on me, even though it's a one-note gag. "Ay dios mio!"

The King Kong was a throwaway skit, and the joke was done better 20 years ago in Caveman.

Darrell Hammond - One line cameos in two sketches, and that's it.

The saving grace of the sensuality class sketch was Fred Armisen, who seemed to be all over the show tonight.

Salma Hayek seemed to be having fun, even if she was too obvious reading the cue cards.

I've never paid much attention to Christina Aguilera before, but GEEWHIZ she is dog-ugly!

Repeats for two weeks, then Bernie Mac hosts on 04/05. I am SO gonna skip that.

Honk!

Wow, I actually thought it was pretty funny. The final "Vote Frida" segment was great: "Don't let her fool you!!! Look very closely at her crotch!!! You can see her cajones right there!!! She can't win Best Actress; she's a DUDE!!!"

to Hayek. She did a great job with a pretty good variety of material.

What was the deal with the audio on Aguilera? It was extremely erratic. I guess the SNL technical crew doesn't know what to do with artists who don't lip synch.

the only funny thing was Fallon's montage - and what's with the goiter on Christina's nose?

Overall, i'll give it a D+ (and that's pretty generous I think)

I thought it was ok. I only liked the "vote Frida" spots and Amy Pohler as Avril.

I think this was the first time this season weekend update wasn't a complete mess.

That was only becuz of Fred, Salma & Amy. THAT was funny. Other than that...another crapfest by Tina & Jimmy.

As far as the rest..gotta second das' for Salma. The Frida/Chicago spots were funny. Coulda used more Mya and less Jeff..

When Mya Rudolph, Salma, and Christina were all on screen together, Christina looked really, really bad. It was like the Sesame Street song, 'One of these things is not like the other..'

the vote frida parts were the only things worth watching imo. salma can't act unless she's being read lines. and she came off as pretty dumb.

Pretty decent show. Salma was pretty good too even with her thick accent. The Donatella Versace skit was funny and the TV funhouse skit was as funny as it has ever been.

Xtina dressed more appropriately than she has in a long time. She showed some cleavage but kept everything else covered which is a good move.

Yes, it was a TV Funhouse cartoon spoof, so they were taking actual audio clips from "Hot" and rearranging them to make it funny.

The best moment of the night was during Bush's press conference when he called on "that weird looking guy from Aint It Cool News".

Are you serious? As far as I know, SNL has never had lip synching acts. It's always been live perfromances (at least the vocals).

I wonder just how many SNL watchers actually had any idea who "that weird looking guy" actual is?

I really liked the Vote For Frida ads as well. I wasn't a big Salma Hayak fan before, but I did enjoy this show. At least she looked like she was really enjoying herself.

I wonder what Avril Lavigne was like on the set on SNL when she appeared a few weeks. I have read before that when people appear on SNL and do not act great towards the SNL folks, a lot of times they will make fun of them on the show as a sort of payback. Just curious...
