Any news on an official (R0/R3) Taxi 3 w/ English subs?
I know it is still in the theaters in France, but these films never come to theaters around me.
I have R0/R3 discs of the first two Taxi films.
Has anyone heard any info about when offiical R0/R3 copies of Taxi 3 will be released on DVD?
Thanks

Don't know about Taxi 3, but the HK DVD of Wasabi came out about a year after it hit theatres in France.
Once Taxi 3 plays in HK theatres, it will most likely be only a few months afterward that a DVD is release.

Both Taxi and Taxi 2 were shown in theatres in the US. However, like Wasabi, they were very limited releases.
I think the reason Taxi isn't out on video might have to do with the rumored production of a US remake.

I've heard that the status of the US remake is up in the air due to a similar film being made based on the Crazy Taxi video game series (directed by Richard Donner).
Ice Cube's production company is supposed to produce it, so I've heard that Ice Cube might star in the US version...HUH? There has got to be a better choice of actor.

Well, i thought it was a suprise him in the movie but then again i did see it mentioned everywhere, do they advertise him in it? Either way, its more a cameo, nothing spoiler there. I saw it yesterday and thought it was a great addition to the series.

Trigger, it is Sylvester. Apparently he and Besson are going to do something together in the future (another Rambo and the Taxi remake have been talked about) so I guess his cameo was a friendly gesture.

I dont want to disappoint you guys, but Taxi 3 was pretty stale.
Less fun compared to the previous 2 which were really great flicks. Some time has passed, and the characters have moved on with their lives, and they kinda get back together to solve another case.
The jokes can be funny but mostly predicatable, and one being so overused..."Hey your shoelace is untied" was used like 3 times, jesus!
It was just so under par IMO that I dont even want to consider the DVD...

To me Taxi 3 is inline with the other 2 films, which were lite comedy and action films, not too great in either category but enjoyable time killers with some cool action pieces. The acting and charcater interactions are for those who are fans of the series, kind of like the Lethal Weapon movies where you were a fan of the charcaters and saw the movie regardless if the movies were any better.
