Simpsons 3/2/03

A good solid episode of the Simpsons tonight.

Spoiler:
I didn't realize that Helen Fielding was appearing so that was a bit of a surprise. I love how they get these guest stars and have them to do something stupid, like they did with her tonight. There are some funny parts, but I really can't remember them, since I saw Malcolm after it, and that was funnier. Marisa Tomei is good, and Jim Brooks even makes an appearance! Good episode (one of the better ones of the season), just not that memorable!

Man, the end was so out of character for Ned. There were some good bits, but they really blew it at the end. Booo!!!

Some decent parts, but I didn't like it overall .... too strained (like the dress-chip joke).

Yeah, the end was totally out of character for Ned. Disappointed.

Decent episode, Ned deciding to do it was certainly shocking. But at least this episode didn't try to pile on the sex jokes, it actually had some decent emotional elements that remind me of classic episodes. It's not quite as good as "A Fish Called Selma" though.

I liked this episode. Some good lines.

Sea Captain: Are you hitting on me? I don't do that....on land.

The Benny Hill thing was great as well as Homer swallowing a caterpiller and it coming out as a butterfly.

I thought this ep was pretty funny.

The Bennie Hill bit was funny.

"I'm going to Africa to see lions, giraffes, monkeys, santa.."

Ned's dream about moving to Hollywood and Rod and Todd becoming Jewish was funny to.

The Benny Hill parody was great, but the one that's on Clone High on MTV in two weeks is more entertaining (and a bit more longer).

Ned's dream was also great.

One of the better Simpsons episodes in a while.

Few funny moments, but overall, one of the worst episodes this season. Got a little irritated but ohh well.

Hmm, I thought it was one of the better eps this season. Ralph going to Africa and the line about 2-inch vegetables had me .

Good episode, disappointing ending.

Ralph cracked me up, and Helen Fielding's bit was hiliarious. The Hollywood dream was great.

I actually liked it quite a bit, as long as it's not a rerun I like it.

Good episode. I like that they humanized 'St. Flanders' a bit. Some may be disappointed with the ending, but it would be really hard for someone to fight off that temptation under those circumstances.

i thought the dress and chip thing was pretty lame, IMO. too forced. homer-based jokes need to be more organic. that one felt like they had run out of their time quota for not having a homer joke. lame.

unfortunately, i missed the first five to ten minutes... i'll catch them when they come out on dvd, in fifteen years.

the episode was average overall. about par for the current season. sort of "blah".

The chip scene reminded me of that Family Guy episode where Peter hurt his leg and they went on for a good 30 seconds with him holding his leg and gasping in pain. My gut says that the Homer/chip scene was a poor homage to the Family Guy scene, but maybe not.
