What is a good puzzle game for the ps2?

I finally picked up a PS2 and my wife only plays puzzle games for the most part. Seeing as how I want my purchase to look like it was a needed thing, I would like to get a game that will make her happy.

She likes Tetris type games, and the old style Intelligent Qube (which I cannot find at a decent price) for example. Anyone know of games that she may enjoy so that I can stay out of the doghouse?

It's not a PS2 game, but get Mr Driller for the PS1.. it'll be the best $10 you've ever spent. I promise.

(Devil Dice was awesome too but hard to find!)

Puzzle Fighter on PS1 hands-down! Time just melts away when playing this game with friends. Might be nearly impossible to find though....

Well, both of the games I was going to suggest have already been mentioned, and they're both PS1 games. Intelligent Qube and Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo. Both hard to find, both very expensive.

Bust-A-Move 2 is a decent puzzler. It's priced right at $20.

I loved Devil Dice, very addictive for the PS1. Don't know what availability is now.

I clicked here to recommend Super Puzzle Fighter 2 but I found it's already been done. It's the only game I've ever played best out of 100.

OMG! Did pixiboi just endorse something Sony-related without crapping all over it?!

known as wetrix on n64 and dreamcast

its a 3d style brick(land) laying game
the goal is to build up land to keep the water from spilling.

Well to be honest.. Mr Driller was an arcade game, and there are superior versions of the game on both Game Boy Advance and Game Cube.. I was simply helping a brtoha out..

Might I just reinforce the IQ (Intelligent Qube) recommendation. This is by far the best PS puzzler, I still play it regularly. I find some people thinking SPF2:T too difficult to really get into on a casual basis (which seems the main appeal of puzzlers in the first place - easy to pick up, impossible to put down).

As an aside, wasn't there a PS2 update/sequal to Intelligent Qube that was released in Japan but did not come stateside? Anyone know?

Yes, there was a Intelligent Qube sequel that only came out in Japan.

Another puzzle game: Ballistic.

I agree that's an excellent game, but still - Ico is much better.

That's what I came in here to do as well. Chalk up another vote for Super Puzzle Fighter 2.

Wow, I never thought I'd see the day when I drrop into a thread and see my favorite game of all time(Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo) get so many well deserved props! I have been playing it for about a year on and off I can tell you it is without a doubt the most addictive puzzle game ever made! Tetris, Magical Drop, Bomberman, Columns, none of them hold a candle to this game! Playing by yourself is one thing...but battling with another foe online takes it to a whole nother level!! It's extremely fun! This game is just BEGGING to be brought to xbox live! I swear if it comes out it will remain parked in my xbox FOREVER!

I liked Super Puzzle Fighter but I actually liked Devil Dice more. Is there anyone else out there that liked this game?
