Bertolucci's The Last Emperor
...I see where the French have done it again: a three-DVD DeLuxe Limited (to 5200 numbered copies) Edition of The Last Emperor that has the 155-minute theatrical release on one disc, the 210-minute version longue on a second disc, the extras on a third disc...
...too bad I never liked this movie...

Given that it appears (from amazon.fr) to have both french and english audio, I'd guess that the subtitles wouldn't be burned in, but would be "forced" when the english audio was selected.
(after all, why bother producing a 3 disc LE and a 2 disc SE of a title which forced the use of french subtitles even when french audio was selected?)

Hendrik, am I correct in my belief that this is one of the few threads you have started? It just seemed unusual to see a post from you that wasn't a witty and/or biting reply to someone else's post.

...well... I tend to react more than act... that is why I rarely start a thread... that said, I do wish the French had lavished as much attention on a full-fledged release of Il Conformista rather than on The Last Emperor...
