www.gamefaqs.com is good for FAQ and Walkthroughs.

The forums are pretty crappy (lot of young kids posting), but sometimes you can learn soemthing new/interesting.

I'll second that. Most everyone in here seems to have something intelligent to say. The number of off topic and/or bad posts are few and far between. I've gotten a lot of good information about things I never would have known about without this forum.

yeah, I'll take fairly steady mature, intelligent conversation than the deluge of juvenille idiocy that is rampant on just about every other game board

yeah, i like this. you see a lot of deals and no stupid bashes against consoles. gamefaqs is rampant with 10 year olds and ign boards are decent, but you need to pay for it. the free 'vestibule' board is a rampage. it is fairly good for laughs though

Seriously, this is as deep as I want to get into gaming forums. I really don't want to wade through all the crap that alot of other gaming forums....actually other forums period often have.

Yeah this site as helped me out a lot. Crowd seems much more mature than what you'll find at IGN, Gamefaqs, etc.

People in this forum are much more mature than, say, gaming-age.

BUT, I do think that gaming-age has more hardcore gamers. Not to take anything away from this forum, but some members seem to care more about progressive scan and HDTV capabilities of video gaming rather than the actual games themselves.

That's probably because people here can afford this technology and know what kind of difference it makes.. (Not that I know.. I'm poor!).. another defense is that if every game that comes out is going to suck, might as well have them LOOK good. I know the minute I get a 60" HDTV I'm hooking up the NES and playing some Zelda 2, with ultra bass! (okay.. maybe AFTER I play Panzer Dragoon Orta in HD)..
