Slayer : Reign In Blood cover art
Im curious who did the cover art for Slayer's Reign in Blood.
That is my favorite album cover (and album) of all time & being an original art collector I would love to see some more of this artists work.
The artist is not listed anywhere on the cd & i no longer have my album to check.
I would love to know his name to see if he has a website where his other art is displayed or for sale.
If anybody could help i'd really appreciate it.
Thanks.

My CD's liner notes list Larry W. Carroll as the Illustrator.
Edit: He is also credited for the artwork for South of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss.

Alright, Slayer fans! I just have a need to chime in when I see the rare post on this band. Jk4w, good luck on the art quest, keep us posted. BTW what do you guys think of the new album? I'm really not digging it as much as the previous, which kicked ass IMHO.

God Hates Us All is their best release in a decade and is my album of the year, all rock genres, for 2001.
Still have RIB on vinyl, guess I could check it to see if there's any difference...

I continue to be stunned that "God Hates Us All" was released on September 11, 2001 (as was P.O.D.'s "Satellite").
Just a frightening coincidental occurence....

I just have to say that these are pretty much perfect album covers. I mean, that's what the music looks like.

And speaking of Slayer, the last Slayer album I bought was "Divine Intervention," and I hated it. Something just sounded off about the production, and the songs were all workmanlike. Sounded more like some anonymous death metal band trying to do a Slayer album than the masters themselves.
The songwriting also didn't seem as sharp. (And "Dittohead" - Jesus, are they listening to Limbaugh now or something? )
All in all, it just struck me as being a kind of lazy album, where they didn't really have much of a musical direction or anything to say.
Were "Diabolus in Musica" and "God Hates Us All" any better?
That said, "Show No Mercy" was a cracking good debut album, and "Reign In Blood"-"South of Heaven"-"Seasons in the Abyss" were state of the art thrash albums, genre defining stuff. I'd go so far as to say that "South of Heaven" belongs in anyone's music collection.

Reign In Blood...hell, I remember when I was in high school, and that album was supposed to come out...then they got dropped by their label, and it was delayed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the droppage was due to the cover art, no?

If i remember correctly i thought that Warner Brothers was gonna pick them up on the conditions that they drop Angel of Death from the record & Slayer said that there's no way they'll drop the track so they signed up with Def Jam.
