Can the Shield be watched out of order?

Two questions really--

1. Will it matter if I see disc 2 of The Shield Season 1 before I see the first disc?

2. Does anyone here have any strategies to keep Netflix from sending box sets out of order? The have disc 1 on a short wait and just shipped disc 2 instead. On the bright side, Mickey Mouse in Living Color is on the way.

I think you really need to see the Pilot episode first.

It really sets up the rest of the season and the end is so shocking, that if you see the other episodes first it will spoil it for you.

i would definately suggest watching it in order, especially the first episodes...like Jadzia stated it really sets up the finale

No way you should watch them out of order. Too many running storylines.

If you could wait, I would watch them in order, and believe me, you will probably finish this set quick, it is damn good.

Here's another vote for watching them in order. Later episodes make references to previous ones which means you would be clueless as to what is going on. And unlike the Sopranos DVDs you don't have the option of watching "Previously on" and "next time on" trailers.

Thanks--although I'm not too happy about getting the second disc first. Guess I'll hang onto it and hope they send the first one next.

You could always pull a Memento and watch them backwards.
