Splinter Cell... what platform should I buy it for?
It's out on X-Box, it's coming out for PS2 and PC.
I'm mainly debating between X-Box and PC. Does anyone think that the PC version will look any better than the X-Box version? I'm guessing/hoping that the extra levels available on the PS2 version will be available for the PC and X-Box, too.

If your PC setup is top of the line, I'm sure the graphics will be at least the same as the Xbox with a higher resolution on the PC. As for the extra levels, it's already been announced that they will be available for free download on Xbox Live and also on a demo disc that will be available at a later date. No word on the PC version that I'm aware of...

after playing the PC demo, I'd suggest the Xbox version - the analong sticks allow you to creep slowly or walk or hustle... a PC keyboard only lets you creep. There isn't even a walk/run toggle (not that I could find anyway). Graphically, the PC version is better of course, but the Xbox version looks so good, there's no reason to not get it.

Controls on the PC version are horrid. The only way to adjust your running speed is with wheel up/wheel down.
Also, I had all settings turned up on high and it still looked worse than the XBox version.

I can't imagine being able to play this game on a PC without an excellent gamepad. The slight usage of the analog sticks is crucial to the game. Having said that, the one appeal of the PC version(other than better graphics) is that you might be able to do a quick save option. I'm currently playing through the xbox version and am finding it hard as hell because if i screw one thing up i have to go all the way back to the previous checkpoint(I'm currently on mission 4 just after you get into the building). The Xbox version will be hard to beat so I'd say go with it.

Thanks for the posts! My PC is 933 MHz, 512 MB RAM... not crap, but definitely not "top of the line." I do have a 5.1 setup that my X-Box & PS2 are connected to, but not my PC... that's something I didn't think about.
Looks like X-Box is it!

If you use a mouse/keyboard combo, the default control setup uses your mouse wheel to toggle between the different speeds of movement. I found this to be quite an innovative and comfortable control scheme.
