So, which show will you be watching this Sunday 2/2...Kingpin or Dragnet
I was curious which show people would be watching this coming Sunday, Kingpin (NBC) or Dragnet (ABC). Since they are up against each other at 10/9c. I am chosing to watch Kingpin because the storyline sounds interesting, the inner workings of a drug cartel.

Both, of course. Each sounds interesting enough but could also be just a cheap imitation of something else. Don't forget that Kingpin is a limited run, so if you have to choose, it may be better to watch that and come in on Dragnet later.

Neither. Part of me wants to see the new and "improved" Dragnet but it's on opposite Boomtown. Kingpin's move to Tuesdays is also a problem (between Gilmore Girls, Buffy, & 24 there just isn't enough tape in the VCR). I think on Sunday I'll stick to the Godfather DVD's I just picked up.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Bravo. I don't care about Dragnet and I'll watch Kingpin when it's rerun on Bravo. On Bravo, Kingpin's supposed to have added scenes and will not be censored. I find that kind of funny considering Bravo shows a lot of IFC content, but they always have to censor it.

Kingpin has a total of six episodes which will run on Sundays
and Tuesdays for 3 weeks. Tuesday episodes are not a repeat
of Sunday episodes. When Kingpin runs on Bravo it will be broadcasted in 2 hour blocks . Someone has stated at another forum that the Bravo version is about 7 min. longer.

I am going to tape Kingpin and watch Dragnet. My main interest is Kingpin, so I would rather have that on tape so I can see it all, and I will try to stay awake to watch Dragnet. If I fall asleep, no big deal, since I will still have Kingpin...

The paper says:
"The entire six-episode inaugural season of "Kingpin" airs this month, on Sundays and Tuesdays through February 18."
Now, I'm VERY worried about "Boomtown", because the NBC site says:
"An upcoming episode has not yet been scheduled. Please check back later."
Why isn't it slated to return for sure on February 23?!!?!?!?!?

Feb 23 is still in sweeps period and Boomtown while an
excellent show usually runs third or fourth in the ratings. I would
imagine NBC will run a special in order to achieve a better then
usual sweeps rating. As close as sweeps has been, one show can make a major difference in advertising rates for the next
three months. Boomtown will be back after sweeps and will
probably run off most of it's new episodes before the May sweeps
begin.

I watched "Kingpin" but I wish I had tried "Dragnet" instead. Ugh.
As for Sheryl Lee, the years haven't been kind to here. When she first appeared on screen I said "Who is that grizzled old crone?" before I realized who it was.

I watched Kingpin and taped Dragnet. I have to say that Kingpin was okay, but it had a lot of slow moments. This show could have been better if it was on HBO or at least FX. They could have been able to do more. I hope Dragnet is better.

"Kingpin" didn't look too good to me in the previews, it looked like a daytime soap rendition of a mob show.
"Dragnet" didn't interest me either, anyone else kind of getting sick of these kind of shows? (I only have a vague memory of the original, only ep I remember was about a kid with live grenades.)
So.. I watched uhm, The Simpsons and Malcom in the Middle - since - for one - I forgot either of the other two were on, and also was in the mood for something light.
So anyway, how was Kingpin? Kind of curious, it seemed like it could of had potential (synopsis) but the previews just looked...bad.

I probably won't finish watching Kingpin, but it's mildly interesting. It's not extremely riveting, and the Spanish used that is not subtitled is fairly elementry...I mean, I'm not fluent and I know what they are saying.
I like knowing that I don't have to finish watching this episode right now, since I'm not too interested in it. Maybe I'll just wait for the Bravo "Director's Cut".
