Thomas in Love (Thomas est amoureux) (2000) - non R1?
I'm trying to find a non-R1 copy of Thomas in Love (Thomas est amoureux) -- both the US and Canadian versions have burnt in sub-titles. It's curious that I've been unable to find this DVD outside R1 since it's a French film.

"...both the US and Canadian versions have burnt in sub-titles..."
...erm... not according to this review of the (Canadian) DVD from Seville... nor according to this review of the same disc... which, incidentally, would seem to indicate that there aren't "US and Canadian versions" - there is just the one Seville release...
(...btw: this is actually a Belgian film, raather than a French one...)
. . . . . .

The R1 US version is distributed by New Video Group. Doing a web search for the title, I've also seen at least 3 different DVD covers for the movie, although I've been unable to find it for sale beyond R1 US/Canada.

MarkAtHome, Hendrik is right. By the way, your username is very appropriate for this film.
I got the R1 Canadian Seville edition shortly after it came out. Seville 22044DV. Bought it from DVDmode in Canada.
It has OPTIONAL English subtitles, with the original French language.
It's widescreen 16x9.
Also has: Making of Thomas in Love featurette, sextoon sequences featurette.
The cover art is reversible, English and French.
Great film IMO. One of my best "blind buys" ever.
I think this quote on the back describes it very well: "Both innovative and thoughtful...as compelling to watch as it is difficult to describe." Globe & Mail

Sure looks that way (on both counts)... :-)

I just took a look at DVDmode and they're showing Seville DVD002654, which has cover art different from any of the other R1 releases I've seen. Additionally, Seville seems to have one version out now and another due out 25 Feb 03 (I don't know the difference). I may have to wait until all this sorts out.
