Woah.

Shane will do anything for Mackie.

Did I miss something.

Damn - that was a powerful episode!

Very, very intense, but there was one funny moment:

Mackie to Shane after Shane doesn't want to go bust male hustlers, "Well, your shirt's gay enough. "

Incredible ep.

I love what they do with music in this show, eclectic selection well-used.

What song was that over the end? It sounded like Michael Penn, but I have no idea.

Amazing episode.

Shane is turning into Mackie, which is why they are conflicting.

Lt. Blowjob got played hard.

That episode was extremely insane... and I loved it.

Huh???

I'm wondering why the one cop said Julian saw her shoot the guy. Would it have made that much of a difference if he hadn't? (I mean technically speaking -- we know he didn't, and that's what he said). She was clearly being threatened for the most part, why did he have to be part of the story?

Great Ep.

I agree about the conflict between Shane and Vic is because Shane is turning in to Vic. The scene with Shane and the girlfriend of the guy who shot Mackey was intense.

The Dutch case was great. It's was good to see him him get knocked down a little and totally fooled by that girl. I didn't see that coming at all. His head had gotten big after he cracked that serial killer case last season.

I've only watched a couple of shows (including tonights).

What is the deal with the cop who wore a yellow shirt tonight, has the short spiked hair? At the end of tonight's show he is in Chikris' hotel room.

What's his backstory?

Also, when will FX have reruns of this weeks episode?

That's the only part I didn't like... all last season, they played him as a cop with weak personal skills/common sense but with an excellent detective ability. This season, he's just Mr. Bumblefoot, screwing up everything he gets into.

Carl Weathers was great... I wonder if he got part of that warehouse's stash?

Who was the girl that fooled Dutch? She looked REALLY familiar but I can't place her.

Here's hoping we see more of Carl Weathers. Great character that has potential.

I think your talking about Shane. He's Vic's second in command. He's the guy who usually makes the show more interesting by causing Vic most of his problems and he's also a bit of the comic relief, like the cockfighting episode last season. He was more of a screwup last year but this year they seem to be making his character more Vic like.

I disagree. To me, it seemed very realistic. Unlike most other detective dramas, where the good guy always gets his man and saves the girl, this one showed that even the best detectives don't always win every time. That's life.

Great episode. This show just blows me away week after week.

Thanks! I've seen just about every movie she's been in, but couldn't place her. The "other" girl from Heavenly Creatures (the one who didn't star in the boat movie).

Carl Weathers was great... a good guest star, I believed he was a washed up cop..

Also, Shane threatening to rape that girl was crazy.. I almost believed he was gonna go through with it anyway.

Another great show, glad to see it won those Golden Globes, well deserved.

Great episode. Man that girl played Dutch. He was totaly fooled. I was wondering if her scared little girl thing was an act. It still surprised me some at the end to find out it was. I was also surprised how far Shane went to get that girl to talk. That scene was intense. This season is starting off really well. Hope it continues through the rest of the season. I just bought the season 1 boxset. I need to go back and watch through those again.

Oh yeah, Carl Weathers did really nice job too. Is he supposed to show up anymore this season?

Damn good stuff. Loved the Dutch story ... fits perfectly. He's getting a big head. He's got that girlfriend and was catching serial killers, and he became just a bit too confident in his sleuthing. Shane's scene with Julian was great too. Vic gives him **** for telling the truth about the missing hour, and then he turns right around and gives Julian **** for telling the truth about not seeing the shooting.

am i the only that's noticed that the sound quality for the Shield broadcasts sucks? It was all distorted during the opening, and throughout the show it was really 'mono' sounding and not clear at all....and i checked it on two tvs.

All in all, i'm new to the show, and it was good....but i'll defer my 'great' stamp of approval until i've seen a few more episodes.

It didn't sound distorted on my TV. All the episodes this year have sounded fine to me. Maybe it was just your area?

You should definitely get ahold of the first season for some very essential character development that adds even more depth to the characters actions this season.

The Shield really is one of the best things going on TV right now. I was wondering if they could keep up the quality level to match the first season, so far they're pretty close.

This was another great episode, and I'm hoping that we see Carl Weathers on the show again before too long.

It's funny, I've read stories about the Emmy's and Golden Globes, and they call The Shield, "A little known cable cop show." Doesn't The Shield get really good ratings for cable? Maybe the people writing these articles just don't know much about it themselves, and they assume that everyone else is just like them...

I a high rated cable show gets maybe a 2.5 to 3.0 rating

4 episodes of spongebob squarepants had higher raitings than The Shield

CSI gets a 17 or higher rating.

I'd say The shield is the domain of tv junkies such as ourselves.
