New Deltamac releases of Police Story and Mr. Vampire?
If someone has seen the recent Deltamac releases of Police Story and Mr. Vampire, please compare to the Mega Star versions.
I've got VHS for these, but need to upgrade. I'm not sure which DVD release does the better job. I'm aware that the HKL version of Police Story is probably the best, but my player won't convert PAL correctly. So, my choice is either Mega Star or Deltamac. Please help me make a wise choice.
I've checked other threads (as well as the ever-helpful love&bullets website), but I can't find anything regarding the Deltamac releases.

Thanks for the link. Based on one thread I found, the Deltamac DVD of Police Story is much better in audio and video quality than the Mega Star. Better than the HKL also.

Yes, the HKL of Police Story has a mastering error resulting in a slightly distorted picture as well as a 5.1 soundtrack that is inferior to the original mono. The Deltamac version does not have these faults.

Oh please. The Deltamac release is a piece of shite. Very bad MPEG mastering results in a soft picture that cannot be scaled on widescreen HDTV's without terrible scaling artifacts being introduced into the picture. I'll take the HKL POLICE STORY any day.
Fact is, all of Deltamac's releases are bottom of the barrel DVD5, low bit rate, cheap MPEG2 mastering dogs. And once again, the subtitles are based on old translations and filled with spelling disasters and sentences that frequently make no sense. The only saving graces with these releases are the original soundtracks (except for PS3, which they screwed up and released mono when it was a 2 channel stereo film).
