Which Season of Friends should be the last DVD set to buy?

I am getting the first season of Friends soon, which i remember fondly. But I am curious when is a good time to stop buying the sets, or perhaps every season is a winner?

But since I am not made of money, I would like to get each season set toward the end of it's prime. Any ideas?

I would get all of them. IIRC season 3 has a new lower MSRP and should sell for around $30 in stores.

Fan of "Friends" = every season is a winner = buy each damn season.

I'm sure others might be able to point out certain stellar seasons if you want to pick and choose.

I can't wait until the one with the apartment switch/game. That is the funniest episode of the series. Which season was that in?

And the one that falls right behind that is the PIVOT! episode.

Well, my wife 'converted' me to a Friends and Will and Grace fan...I had to WATCH all of the eps when I bought her the complete VCD set from Malaysia. (Good VCDs, BTW...)

I feel I am unbiased since I am not as 'into' Friends as I am Seinfeld, Curb,Oz, Sopranos..all of the HBO stuff.

Naturally, I have been buying the seasons..two of each (One for her to keep unopened!) and the sets are great.

If it IS true that the price is being lowered, I would say go for the whole 10 season she-bang. The only honest flaws in the show I have noticed have been this season with writing that clearly didn't KNOW what direction things were going to go...and now that 10 is a done deal, they are dragging this Ross/Rachel thing out AGAIN.

So, they lost ME at 9...but there have been $35 worth of laughs, to be fair, and I am buying Sopranos Season 4 even though..well, no need to go there!

It will hit top speed again at 10, and buying them all does two things:

1. Shows we SUPPORT consistent seasons...if people nitpick over seasons/eps..we end up with "Best Of's"..uggh.

2. If that $30-$40 tag sticks, the end price (Factor in E-Bay, Used..) is a great deal for 10 years of laughs.

Heck, I'd pay TRIPLE OR HIGHER for those same Season sets of Seinfeld.

All I can say is a few more extras wouldn't hurt, but not really complaining...

Hope you stay till 10!

Any chance if anyone out there who have all the seasons, perhaps on vcd, could give a brief rating rundown of the seasons?
That could help.

Rainet-
Two things, tonight I'll grab the stack o' VCD's and post if you need, or, go to epguides.com. I think that is right. They have every season listed , each ep. and the description....and you can print it!

Let me know if you want the VCD post!

Degreaser~

If you can, that would be great. Episode guides are very useful, but im just looking for a brief review of the seasons as a whole. I love Friends, and i know every season has it's moments. But I wonder where people think which season Friends hit it's peak and so forth.

Because to be honest, when i watch reruns now, there are so many seasons out, i have severe difficulty knowing off the bat which season it's from. Perhaps a real veteren can just give a brief run down like season 1....rating 8/10, and so forth.

Since this is asking more about the TV series and if/when its quality drops off as opposed to asking about the DVDs, I'm moving it to TV Talk.

This sounds like a job for JUMP THE SHARK!!!!
http://www.jumptheshark.com/

If you're not familiar with Jump the Shark, it's in refference to the Happy Days episode when Fonzie ski-jumped the shark. Many have said that episode was the beginning of the end.

The web site basically polls people as to when they thought tv shows started going downhill

Here's a list of the top Friends "Jump the shark" moments:
-They Did It (Ross and Rachel)
-They Did It (Chandler and Monica)
-I Do (Chandler and Monica)
-Joey has a crush on Rachel
-Rachel is pregnant
-Ross says "Rachel" at the altar
-Ross and Rachel broke up

I have to agree with "I Do (Chandler and Monica)" or "Rachel is pregnant". That's when I lost all interest.

I plan on stopping on season 10. luckily the seasons have went down in price. I see season 3 is going for about $15 less than the first 2. that is good news.
