hey, if you know much about ddr, i got some mymybox metal pads, and they stopped responding

i took out the circuit board and bought a cheap 5 dollar playstation controller from walmart. i then soldered wires on top of the copper, and it worked for about 20-30 minutes, then the left button stopped responding. after the left button stopped responding, i thought that some of the other buttons would stop as well. have any idea waht is wrong with it? if you dont know much about it, thats cool.
