the women have some major hottie potential, but you can never tell from the photos. i didn't think elizabeth was hot until i saw her on tv.

Wasn't Kel (or whatever his name was), the supposed-jerky-smuggling Army lieutenant from Season 2, Asian?

I saw that there were more men that seemed "attractive" then women. The rest were so-so, but IMO, if you watch Survivor just for the female "hotties", you'd be disappointed.

nope. maybe half. but definitely not full asian. last survivor with shi-ann was the first with a 100% asian person.

Already another season of this? Can't they wait atleast 6 months? It will have only been like 2 months when this one starts. I'll probably skip this one. Pretty soon they are going to be running 2 seasons at once. By the way, it looks like the cast photos were removed. I can't find them anywhere.

here's another link to the cast :

they are running 2 seasons of it each year( In the winter/spring and in the fall ). Considering one season is about 13 episodes, 2 seasons each year is not bad.

Geez, so from looking at all the pictures, it seems they sacrificed the token black guy for an asian guy. I just don't get what's the big deal with, say, five minorites out of a cast of 16 survivors. It's ALWAYS only two, one male, one female.

Some may say it's not a big deal, it's just TV, etc, but to me it is a big deal. I honestly don't understand why this is the way it is. Do they think the white american audience won't accept it?

We don't know who sends in audtion tapes for the show. For all we know the number of minorities that submit tapes could be few and far between. I don't think it is intentional PacMan.

kcd, You could be right. But it just seems that they have this set formula that they are unwillingly to change. There are always only two minorities per show. One always has to be male. The other always has to be female. It just bothers me.

Maybe they just take the 16 people they think would make the most interesting group?

By the way, there were three minorities last season, not two. Ghandia, Ted, and Shii Ann.

well it looks like the cast pictures were taken down but I guess the official Survivor Amazon website will be up on Monday.

According to this week's TV Guide, this season will feature men vs women, at least in the first few episodes. Also, a female player ( Christy I believe ) is supposed to be deaf or partially hearing impaired and according to some spoiler sites, she makes it far in the game.

This season will kick ass I think

New 'Survivor' to be men vs. women
Monday, January 13, 2003 Posted: 3:02 PM EST (2002 GMT)

NEW YORK (AP) -- The sixth season of "Survivor" will be a battle of the sexes, with a tribe of men competing against a tribe of women for the $1 million top prize.

CBS announced details about "Survivor: The Amazon" during "The Early Show" on Monday. The latest installment of the hit reality series, in which 16 strangers try to outscheme and outlast each other in a remote location, begins airing February 13.

Members of the all-male Tambaqui tribe include a triathlon coach, a tax accountant and a rocket scientist. (Seriously, he really is a rocket scientist.)

The women of the Jabaru tribe include a swimsuit model, a deputy district attorney and a guide for deaf children, who is deaf herself. . . .

That's a first. I'd imagine it would be very difficult, since everybody else sort of has an advantage over her.
