What will be the PS2 must have game of the year?
The last two years the must have games have been GTA but i do not think a new one is coming out this year. So which game will be the king of PS2 this year.

Final Fantasy X2 is the only one I'm really looking forward too, assuming it makes it out in the U.S. this year. FFXI doesn't interest me. Not in to MMORPGs or online gaming period.
FFX is the only PS2 exclusive that has blown me away so far. I mostly play sports and fighting games on it, since the GC is lacking in those genres.

FF-X 2 (might not come out this year though)
Devil May Cry 2
And hopefully Star Ocean 3, though the game got delayed until spring in japan i still hope it comes out here before the year ends .

I played The Getaway demo at EB today - I thought the graphics were pretty nice, ran smooth(though your character walks/runs pretty frickin slow), etc. The pedestrians and drivers are much smarter than they are in GTA. One really cool thing about it is that when I used the handbrake too much, it killed the tranny or something - I was flying around turns and hitting the handbrake like I always do in GTA, about the fourth time smoke started pouring out, and the car rolled to a stop. I tested it a few times with different cars, and had the same results after too many turns like that. The turn signals work on the cars, and I ended up busting them in a wreck I had in a Lexus. I ran into a building really fast, and the car burst into flames and I died. One annoying thing is that hitting small posts and stuff just stops the car, instead of knocking the post over. I don't know how many missions were in the demo, as I kept failing the first - you have to follow someone in a fast car, but I found the cars I was driving pretty hard to control(lots of fishtailing), and couldn't keep up in the traffic. I was going to pre-order it soon, until I played the demo - still has me interested, as I didn't play much at all of it, but that little bit I played just seemed to be lacking something(maybe speed and guns, since I've played so much VC lately). I'm going to try it again next time I'm there, and decide then if I'll pre-order or not. It may end up just being rental bait for me....
Anyway, my must have for PS2 is Devil May Cry 2.

If there's ever a sequel or follow-up to ICO, that will be my must have game for this year. I hope something ICO related is released because that's the only game I sold and then regretted selling.

Me too, I'm voting for Final Fantasy X-2
I'm a big RPG fan. If Enix America bring Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior VIII) back, I will vote for it too.
Xenosaga
Star Ocean
.hank (I think they already launched .Hack vol.3 in Japan)
and,
World Soccer Winning Eleven 6 Final Evolution (I heard that it's the best soccer game so far)
