Buffy 01/07/03 "Showtime"
Just caught the latest Buffy, and it was pretty good. I wouldn't call it great, but it is definitely leading to something bigger. I won't bother with any spoilers, since you all can see it for yourselves tomorrow.
BTW, I couldn't help myself, and I went to tvtome.com, and I read some of the spoilers for some of the upcoming episodes. Looks like we are going to be seeing some of the old characters, and we are going to find out the deal with Principal Woods!

Pretty good episode but why all of a sudden is it "easy" to
Sometimes I just don't understand the fighting on this show.
Anyway, I liked the ending with Spike, nicely done.

First half hour was not the best quality I have seen.
But it did improve in the second half.
The plot twists were a little easy to guess this time.
And why is Funky Flubs scheduled for next week instead of Buffy?
Enough with the interuptions.

Does anyone think that Willow and the slayerette who stays in Willow's room hooking up? The show seems to be going that way. I was expecting to see Faith jump out unexpectly and start kicking butt on tonight's show.

Maybe the holy water softened him up...?
Perhaps Buff had a lil adrenaline kick since she had a point to prove to the slayerettes...?
Faith coming back is going to KICK MUCH ASS. BTW...could someone tell me what happened to her on Angel? Thanks.
Next week...pre-emp... UPN

I am guessing since things are out of balance that one Slayer is going to have to Sacrifice herself?
We gotta have Faith.
I thought it was a really good episode with great stuff for everyone to do.
Best line of the night.
"I am Bored. Episode 1 Bored."
Next week the whole Blooper thing is really an underwhelming idea to me.

In particular the ep were she gave up for a split second
and how she dwelled on being the one that killed Dawn.
Sometimes she needs a push. Just like many of us do at times.
Also liked how Spikes faith that Buffy would come for him
in the end.
Personally, I enjoyed the ep. alot.

Willow: Last time I tried using magic, The First, it... turned it around on me... got inside... I felt it, surging through me... every fiber of my being... pure, undiluted evil... I could taste it.
Slayerette: How does evil taste?
Willow: (pause, slight head shrug) A little chalky.

Good episode.
The SIT's were getting on my nerves at the start.
Anya's conversation with the demon was hialrious.
"I can't even give it away"
She looks much better now that she's a blonde again.

When did Buffy/Willow/Xander gain the ability to telepathically communicate? No new news about "Giles" - other than when he put the words into Andrews mouth.
It left me wanting more, which is a good thing - too bad we have to wait two weeks....

I don't think Buffy suddenly had an easy time killing this thing. I think when they first squared off, she was overwhelmed mentally and emotionally regarding the entire situation and that affected her physically. Which can happen to any "normal" person. I think she thought through the options and realized she only tried killing it one way; with a stake. It can't move around during the day, so that must mean that sunlight will kill it. So, she needed to try the others. Holy Water obviously had a negative affect on it, but she didn't have enough on her to do any real damage. So, she then moved on to the next best thing - beheading. Which worked. We understand why she did it where and when she did.
I loved all of Andrews references. He's a scream. But I'll tell you ture, I miss Jonathan. He was a very likable character.
Now, I know that Willow was capable of telepathy from the opener of Season 6, but Buffy was the one who initiated contact. Now, after Willow was involved, she could easily tie in Xander, but it was Buffy who made the first move. When did she learn to do that; or is that something she brought back from the other side?
From what I can gather from what happened with Anya and Giles speaking to the Beholder demon thing, it was Buffy being brought back that caused the problem. I didn't get any indication it had anything to do with anything that occured prior to Season 6. Unless I don't get it, which is indeed possible.

Actually I hope they *don't* bring him back somehow, unless it's as a vision or the first impersonating him again. That's one of my biggest pet peeves in Star Trek is that no one ever really dies. I don't like that in a show.

(Contains season 2 spoilers)
It seemed like the killing of the Uber-Vamp was similar to
Just a case of a seemingly unstoppable bad guy who is only there to advance the plot, to eventually give way to something more powerful.
And thanks for the season 6 reminder. I completely forgot about that episode as a basis for the telepathic conversersation.
