Oz or Buffy?!?

Since both Buffy the Vampire Slayers and Oz is coming out with new dvd season sets this Tuesday, I was wondering which is better. I know these two series are completely different, but since I could only afford one series, please help me choose between Oz or Buffy. Which one should I buy?? Oz or Buffy??

If you can swing it somehow try to get both but if you still can only get one I would lean toward Buffy.

Only one series? I assume you're going to be buying the sets leading up to those being released on Tuesday? While I love Oz, I have to recommend Buffy. Not only will you get many, many, MANY more episodes (almost 3 times as many when all is over), but I think it provides more levels of entertainment and a longer-lasting relationship with the show.

What would you rather see?

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Charisma Carpenter, and Eliza Dushku

or

a bunch of naked men with their willies swinging around?

I'd say Buffy. Season 3 is my second favorite season and it has plenty of Eliza Dushku

Buffy Season 3. Many hot girls. Easy on the eyes. It is also a great show.

Do you have any of the previous seasons of either? I love both shows, but they are completely different. But there is no way I would pick up either of the new releases without getting the seasons that were already released. Or you could save some money and pick up The Shield: Season 1.

OZ will definitly suck you in. I've never been a big fan of Buffy so I'd go with OZ.

Season 2 of OZ (the series best season) vs. Season 3 of Buffy (the series best season)....

Get a paper route and buy both or I'll slap you silly. Get The Shield as well.

But if you had to chose one over the other, you do get more bang for the buck with Buffy (22 episodes and cheaper MSRP vs. 8 episodes of OZ).

Why do studios release these all at once?? Oz, Buffy, Shield..I'm already broke as it is..*sigh*

I've already ordered the Shield Season 1 on Amazon, but I'm not sure what to purchase between Buffy or Oz. Since I don't have any previous seasons of both series, it means if I want to buy Buffy, I'd have to spend $110 ($30 for season 1, $40 each for season 2 and 3) and if I want to buy Oz, I'd have to spend $90 ($50 for season 1, $40 for season 2). What to do what to do...

Ah - but when you put it that way, it's so much more difficult to choose.

It may be just that I've been really disappointed in the last year of Buffy, but right now I would lean toward Shield over Buffy. Shield especially gets the edge for me because there's commentary for every episode. Sometimes commentary can be pretty boring, but Clerks Animated and Mr. Show are my favorite dvds in my collection because the commentary is almost as entertaining as the episodes themselves.

Also I'd say you could skip season 1 of Buffy. If you end up loving the series, you could always pick it up later. Do NOT skip season 1 of Oz or season 2 of Buffy. Both have amazing season finales that you don't want spoiled for you.

A lot of people are anti-Blockbuster, but if that doesn't bother you, you could just rent or buy Oz pvd. I bought season 1 of Oz for $20 during a buy 2 get 1 free deal. In the past, the only tv sets bbv usually carry are the Hbo ones, but they did carry 24, so maybe there's hope for Shield or Buffy too.

Make that another Buffy the Vampire Slayer vote.

Anyways, it would make sense to find out what other people's tastes are before accepting to either side. For example, movie critics, why even listen to them? They could easily have opposite tastes as you - so if they say Movie A sucks, doesn't necessarily mean you'll think it sucks.

I have never seen Oz, so I can't say, but have heard it's good.

I would go with Buffy, but I would recommend have both season one and two first. Although Season one is only 12 eps (was a mid season replacement), it does a good job of laying the foundation for the later relationships.

Good luck.

Season 3 of Buffy has a character named Oz, so in a way you'll get both Buffy and Oz if you buy Buffy Season 3.

Although I've never seen the show Oz, and it's possible it may feature a character named Buffy. If so, you're back at square one.

I have seen both, and I would recommend Buffy. With Buffy, you get action, humor, and hot chicks. I love both shows, but for pure replay value, Buffy stands up better than Oz.
