The Mayor, with Bad-Faith and Angelus tied for second.

I liked Sweet a lot as well.

I prefer the Buffy villians with a humorous edge--

The Troika--not the most effective villians, but they were funny as hell. (Well Jonathan and Andrew were. Warren was actually kind of eerie throughout the show).

Mayor Wilkins--"I'd sell my soul for a good backswing. But I guess its too late for that. How about yours?" Harry Groener was superb.

Others: Mr. Trick, Glory, Harmony the Bimbo Vampire, Sweet, and Principal Snyder (he counts, right?)

Favorite non-humorous villian: Doc (mainly cause I like Joel Grey).

Hi,
the Master. Funny & scary. I wish Team Whedon had waited until Buffy had settled in do make him the show's big bad. The guys from Hush also stand out and the creepy worm guy.

First and foremost would have to be Darla, especially in the little school girl outfit. The only sad thing is that she is married to the voice of the Crypt Keeper.

Second would have to be Glorificus, I can actually put together four (4) degree of separation between the actress and myself.

I think it was in Season 3. it was a Big Sloth Monster that it's Minions were scooping some type of stuff on it. I think Buffy and Faith killed it. I also remember Buffy saying something like, boy do we need a Stairmaster.
Can someone help me with what episode it is?

Other than that, I liked Angelus and Faith.

Troika? They werent villians. Screen fillers but not villians. Lame!

Glory.

"Funny. 'Cuz I look around at this world you're so eager to be a part of, and all I see is six billion lunatics looking for the fastest train out. Who's not crazy? Look around: everyone's drinking, smoking, shooting up... shooting each other... or just plain screwing their brains out 'cause they don't want 'em anymore. I'm crazy? Honey, I'm the original one-eyed chicklet in the Kingdom of the Blind. 'Cuz at least I admit the world makes me nuts."

As stated, without a doubt it would have to be Glory! Clair Cramer is so fine I can't even put it into words!

Second would be Angelus. The whole Buffy/Angel storyline was just a classic tragic love story done to perfection.

That would be the demon Balthazar, from the Season 3 episode "Bad Girls".

And I don't know who my favorite VILLAIN is. Dark Willow was probably the biggest badass. I thought the troika were hilarious, but the Mayor was the "coolest" villain, IMHO.

If Faith counts, I'd pick her, but for pure villainy:

Glory

She was smoking hot, evil, sarcastic and vain.
What more could you ask for.

Dark Willow is tied for second with The Mayor

How about Collin, "The Annointed One"? I know he was killed by Spike, but I was wondering how much of fearsome threat he would be if he hadn't been killed.

Plus, that kid was just plain creepy.

Since I've only seen seasons 1 and 2 thus far since I'm watching it for the first time on DVD, I'm gonna have to say Drusilla.

Just an offshoot here but...

I was watching an episode of Mad About You and noticed that the mayoral candidate that Jamie was working for is the same actor who played the evil mayor on Buffy. Just thought that was interesting : )

As a latecomer to Buffy, I would have answered Glory until two weeks ago when UPN rebroadcast the Dark Willow story.
