DVD/VCR Combo with RF In/Out Question
I've noticed that many DVD/VCR combination units have an RF input and output on them. Can these units be connected to an older TV, that only have the F-type connector input, and have the video and DVD work without messing with RF modulators and coax switch boxes, etc..? Do these units, with the RF output, have the RF modulator in them?
I'm wondering because my girlfriend is considering a DVD player with her old TV and by the time she buys the RF modulator and the coax switch box, she's throwing away, at least, $60 on connectors. This way, when she gets a better TV she can simply use the other connections to take advantage of the higher resolution and not have wasted money on extra connectors/modulators.
Anyone know or have any thoughts?
Thanks!

Yes, most of the combo units output DVD video/audio thru the RF connector just like the VCR. DVD thru an RF connector isn't so hot though, and you pretty much lose any extra sharpness/resolution that DVD offers.
