Toshiba 32A42 from BB -- worth getting $100/4yr warranty?
I'm a bit on the reluctant side to get one cuz it already comes with a one-year warranty. Also, there was a 32A41, so it doesn't seem like this is a brand-new experimental-type model. Opinions?

I thought the same...but about a year after I bought mine it went to hell. Apparently the computer inside went bad, I called them up, and within 2 weeks I had a brand new "computer" and my tv was better than ever. I always get the warrenties on large electronic purchases.
Piece of mind is priceless.

I look at it as insurance. You're spending X amt of $$ for a prodcut that you expect to use for X amt of years. If you don't think that has a good chance of happening you buy the extended warranty (or look for another product that meets the price/productivity equation.)
Ask yourself this: If the TV blows up 3.5 years after purchase, will you feel cheated? If so, buy the warranty. If not, don't.

i know im a salesman and i get pushed (and paid) to sell the extended warranties, but right now giving advice to you, i wont make a dime.
in all honesty, for a bigscreen, GET IT. most include in home service, etc. this is a big deal for those tv's. PLUS, why doesnt the manufacter give a longer warranty? beucase they would lose money, because they have problems after 1 year. most speakers have 5 year warranties. why? because it doesnt cost them anything more, becuase nothing goes wrong with speakers. you do the math :-) if there were NO failures, they would include 5 years.
