MadTV - 12/21/02 - Christmas Show

Anyone catch this last night? Very very funny. The sketches with Santa killing the little girl because she saw him and all the office workers trying to celebrate Christmas with generic non-religious non-specific phrasing were my favorite.

Overall, I think this season has well surpassed SNL in terms of consistent quality.

I loved the show from "Pax TV". The announcer said:

"You're watching Pax TV.........WHY AREN'T YOU IN CHURCH?"

They even got a jab in at SNL. When Santa was trying to kill the little girl, after he sprinkled the dust on her, he said something like ,"Forget that you ever saw me, just like you should forget about that show called SNL". Honestly, SNL sucks. Mad TV is great this season.

MadTV is usually better than SNL. The office bit and the Whitney Houston bit were good.

OMigod! The Whitney impression killed me! I cracked up every time she did that fast smile. I don't think I'll ever be able to see Whitney smile without laughing again!

The Santa skit was the best one though.
I've got some bad news for you
What, no presents?
Oh no. You got lots of presents, but you saw me. Now I'm going to have to kill you ::

I was only disappointed they didn't rerun the Rudolph parody.

Yeah, Deborah Wilson has been the best female sketch performer on television for years. I think she's the only original cast member left on the show ... when she leaves, it's going to be incredibly difficult to replace her.

The "Raging Rudolph" skit remains my favorite Christmas skit to this day. God, I haven't seen that in years.

If you are referring to MadTV's cross between "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Godfather" then you could find it on old episodes that came on TNT. I checked but they don't carry the reruns now although Comedy Central may be replacing reruns of SNL with MadTV in another year or so.
