What is a good real time military strategy game for PC?

Hey everyone. I'd really appreciate it if someone could recomend a good real time strategy game using modern armys and equipment. I've been playing Shogun Total War so I'm looking for something in that vein ( i.e. full 3D landscapes, realistic terrain, weather, etc.)

Thanks

The Command & Conquer series seems to be popular. I think the last one was Red Alert 2. But if you wait a while, C&C Generals will come out and it's supposed to be really awesome.

there is one called real war that came out last year, which was actually a civilian version of something the army uses.

I remember reading horrible reviews on Real War so you might want to do some research on it first.

I've heard it's pretty horrible, actually. But I haven't personally played it... just passing on what I heard.

I didn't think it was bad. It was tough. But overall it kept me entertained.
