best buy return policy

Hello. I got some dvds for my birthday but my uncle didn't keep the receipts. Hey got them from best buy so I was wondering if they would exchange them for other dvds or credit without the reciept. Does anyone know what their policies are on gifts?

Some BB will not take returns or exchange without a receipt. Other BB may take them at their lowest sale price but will require your driver's license and it counts towards your 3-returns-without-receipt quota.

Try taking them back the first few days after Christmas, when they mabe be much more lenient about returning items without a receipt.
Otherwise, in the stores in my area, they will not take anything without a receipt, although some people have reported that they're now able to use credit-card records to authenticate purchases.

If your uncle bought them with a credit card, they should be able to pull the receipt up on the computer by referencing his cc #.

Otherwise, eBay 'em or see if you can trade for some titles you want in the DVD Exchange forum.

Any other stores like Suncoast to return items to? I have a couple box sets I'd like to at least exchange...

Closing thread. I am VERY uncomfortable with a store asking about returning DVDs to another store. It's extremely unethical and not something that has a place here on DVDTalk!
