"Dead by Christmas" by Hanoi Rocks
The Vandals also put out a punk Chiristmas album
"Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues
"Christmas With the Devil" by Spinal Tap
('Tap released "Christmas With the Devil" on their early 90s album "Break Like the Wind" but they first performed it on Saturday Night Live sometime in the mid-80s.)

Beside the Very Special Christmas series, I would always put on:
• Put A Little Love In Your Heart by Annie Lennox & Al Green
• We Three Kings Of Orient Are by Larry Carlton, David Sanborn, Paul Shaffer & Miles Davis.
Both can be found on the Scrooged soundtrack.
And I hate to say this...but I do like the majority of Mariah's X-Mas disc. [this was back when she was singing, not whispering her songs]
Another good one is Alexander O'Neal's "My Gift To You" which was produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Good stuff on there.
And don't forget that perennial favourite "Christmas With the California Raisins". [Which, by the way, features vocals by Madonna's backing singer Niki Harris]
But the best HANDS DOWN X-Mas album in the history of music is A Charlie Brown Christmas by the Vince Guaraldi Trio.
[Okay...I know it's not from the 80's, but I needed to get it off my chest. [/hijack]

And speaking of the 80s, didn't Max Headroom do a Christmas song? I seem to remember seeing it play on MTV.

Song suggestions for a Christmas cd
I want to burn Christmas cds for my friends, however I don't want to do the "department-store" Christmas songs. So far, I've come up with these songs, and I would appreciate any other suggestions.
Mogwai - "Christmas Steps"
Elton John - "Step Into Christmas With Me"
The Flaming Lips - "White Christmas" (from the Radio Sessions cd)
Please, don't suggest traditional songs. I'm going for songs and/or artists they may not have heard before.

I like the Billy Squire song "Christmas is the time to say I love you"
I also like the anti Christmas song by Blink 182 "I won't be home for Christmas"

For the past 4 years I've made a Christmas disc for friends and family and I like to put more unfamiliar things on them. Some of the stuff that I've put on there:
-"Christmas in New Orleans" - Louis Armstrong
-"Merry Christmas Eve" - Better Than Ezra
-a lot off of the Squirrel Nut Zippers Christmas disc (excellent)
-"Back Door Santa" - Clarence Carter (Run-DMC sampled this for "Christmas in Hollis")
-"Talking Christmas Goodwill Blues" - John Wesley Harding
-"Fairytale of New York" - The Pogues w/ Kirsty MacColl
-"Baby Jesus" - Matthew Sweet
-"Christmas Song" - Weezer
-"Give Me a Second Chance For Christmas" - Mike Viola and the Candy Butchers
-"Dominick the Italian Christmas Donkey" - Lou Monte (!!!!!)
-"Christmas Day" - The Beach Boys
-"Suddenly It's Christmas" - Loudon Wainwright III
-"Christmastime" - Aimee Mann and Michael Penn
-"The Man in the Santa Suit" - Fountains of Wayne
-"Merry Christmas Emily" - Cracker
-"Donna and Blitzen" - Badly Drawn Boy
-"Let's Make Christmas Mean Something This Year" - James Brown
-"Holy S**t! It's Christmas" - Red Peters
