Reviews Wanted: Transformers Season 2 Part 1

Does anyone here have this set yet? Did Rhino do as great of a job that they did with Season 1 of this series? How are the special featires etc ?Any chance of epiosde summaries etc ? I have not watched this season since it aired in the 1980's.

Thanks for the help!

Hey Aaron. I'm doing the review of this set for DVDTalk. Besides what you stated in your post, are there any other areas you'd like me to cover? I've watched one episode so far, and I'm pretty impressed (and feel like I'm 8 years old again).

I think if you were satisfied with season then you'll love this. The presentation is at least as good and the quality of the episodes are the same. This is probably even better than season 1 just because you get more episodes. Once again the extras aren't great but you don't have to go through a bunch of menus to watch them. The biggest feature is the look at Botcon 2002 which runs about 42 minutes if I remember. The set includes interviews with 2 Transformer voice actors (though only 1 is actually from this season). Theres a 3-4 minute mistake reel but this time it has commentary explaining what the mistakes are. With 24 episodes you don't need that many extras. I had a great time watching Season 2 part 1 and can't wait for part 2.

I'm not even through with the first disc yet, but I'm very pleased. It seems better quality than the first season. I've only noticed ONE animation/voice mistake so far - in one scene Starscream is shown talking, but it's not his voice being used.

I highly recommend both box sets out right now, if you are a fan!

Extras are slim, but quality is good. Bring on the rest, now!
