Thoughts on the Yamaha YHT-300 5.1 Channel Home Theater System?
If anyone has this or knows much about it, could you let me know what you think? Or list an alternative or two?
I've got a holidays GC to amazon and I was looking for something in the $300-$400 range for speakers and a receiver (not with a dvd player included).
This seems to get good reviews. It's hard to pick things like this out online, so that's why I'm hoping to get some feedback. I browsed the site for an hour and my head is spinning.
Also, if anyone if familiar with amazon, could you suggest stands for this system? I need 2 of them and it didn't give measurements of the speakers or suggest which ones to get for this system.
I'm going to mount the rear ones of the wall.
Thank you.

I took a look and listen to this system at a Best Buy (which, admittedly, isn't exactly the best place to look/listen to anything). While the reciever that comes with the system seemed very nice, the speakers - a bunch of little cubes - sounded merely okay.
In terms of Home Theater in a Box systems, I'd recommend the Onkyo HT-650. It is more expensive, but the speakers are of higher quality. You could also probably find success with separate speakers and reciever.
