Upgrading to region free player?

I have a Pioneer DVL-700 Combi player(laser/DVD) and a Mit 55" 4x3 TV. I'm going to upgrade to a Mit 65" 16x9, 65909.

I want to start buying Toho's monster masterpieces(at least IMHO, price is no object since they will never be sold here!) and I need to know what Region Free player is the best.

It has to have progressive scan and all the bells and whistles since the majority of my DVD's are Region 1 and only a few will be Region Free(Toho's)!

Believe it or not, this isn't the most original question asked hereabouts. Please try a search checking to see what threads in this forum from the past six months have included the word regionfree in the title. Thank you. [Benedict]
