Fox shakes up Schedule, Firefly on Hiatus

http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=13924

The Fox network is putting the best new show of the season on hiatus.
“Fastlane” will inherit the “Firefly” timeslot beginning in January, according to many, many Coaxial sources.
And “Firefly” will no longer have a slot. “Hiatus” is coming to River, Simon, Inara and Mal.
Fox’s nights of change:
TUESDAY
8/7C AMERICAN IDOL
9/8C 24

WEDNESDAY
8/7C THAT '70S SHOW (new night & time)
830/730C AMERICAN IDOL RESULTS SHOW
9/8C BERNIE MAC (new time - actually his OLD time)
930/830C CEDRIC (new time)

FRIDAY
8/7C FASTLANE (new night & time)
9/8C JOHN DOE
And you say, “Well, this is okay. They’re probably going to put ‘Firefly’ in the old ‘girls club’ slot. The old ‘Angel’ daypart. Mondays at 9 p.m.
Be a pity though if Fox stuck some piece-of-**** “Bachelor” knockoff in the Monday 9 p.m. timeslot. Wouldn’t it?

My Monday 9 PM timeslot is filled anyways, so I don't mind.

I'm pleased that Bernie Mac has returned to his old time slot. I usually either watch that show, or "My Wife and Kids". I don't have to choose, thanks to the WB, who put "Birds of Prey" out of its misery.

I do have to choose between shows on Tuesday, now, though. Thanks a lot.

Too bad for "Fastlane", though. Fridays at 8? Not the best timeslot, IMO. That's the "uh oh" timeslot, IMO.

They never put That 70's show on when I can watch it. First, Buffy, and now Ed. Damn.

I wouldn't mind another Love Cruise with that girl with the freaky bug eyes as host.

Damn. I was looking forward to watching Angel now without missing anything, now Fox screws it up by moving Bernie Mac there. I gave up on Firefly a few weeks ago so no big deal there but Buffy might be in more trouble going up against American Idol.

Ugh ... this is getting ugly. I think they're overestimating the repeat success of American Idol. If Fastlane is taking Firefly's spot, I'll stop watching it out of principle (not like they care).

From what I have heard (hearing elsewhere), it has moved to the WB network and will be a mid-season replacement. I know it is quite odd since the show started on Fox this year...but then again we're talking about those crazy TV executives.

Shhh!

:::whispers:::

Don't give FOX any ideas.

I really wouldn't hold it past them to place something dumb in that time slot.

Maybe it'll be "Glutton Bowl 42" or maybe "Temptation Island visits the Love Boat"

That's a good thing since there are too many good shows already on Tuesday night. Wednesday night currently has squat.

I am very dissapointed with Firefly being on hiatus. Generally, that is a death sentence for a show, but let's hope that Firefly will be able to find an audience when it comes back. I am just glad that they are going to finally show the pilot. They are still going to show the pilot in December, right?

What a bunch of idiots. Why move That 70s Show?

At least they moved Fastlane away from that death time-slot. Now I can catch/record it prior to the MTV repeats.

I watched about 5 minutes of American Idol. I could not get the fascination with it. Reminded me of the Gong Show only it was not funny.

Sounds like someone needs a TiVo.

I might have to pass on the new American Idol. I already have Buffy & The Gilmore Girls on Tuesday at 8pm, and I only have two cable boxes.

I think this show worked better as a summer series anyway, when there was nothing else to watch.

Darn...and I was hoping they were going to work the sub plot of the Preacher writing a book that he affectionately calls B.O.B - Blood on the Bible.

Now I am pissed off I can't choose between 70's show or My Wife and Kids, and I do have a tivo(and 2 boxes) but if I am not home I can't watch one tivo the other, I don't want firefly to go, but now I can watch fastlane which the little I have seen was decent.

Actually, I'm glad they're moving That 70s Show. On Tuesday at 8 it was behind Buffy and Gilmore Girls on my Tivo Season Passes. This way it should actually get recorded.
