Now they are trying to ruin Spawn 2

Looks like they are going for a PG-13 rating. The problem is that Spawn is an R rated character. I guess we will see what happens.

From Darkhorizons.com:
Spawn 2: The script is undergoing re-writes for a more action-oriented and PG13 rating according to SteveNiles.Com

Well, a large part of comic readership is also under 17... Couldn't tell you the percentage but that's like making a Veggie Tales movie PG-13. Just slightly out of the range of what the intendended audience can convince their parents to take them to

well the last one came out PG13 but then got a R video release. It completely sucked on both accounts. But if they are making a sequel lets hope they can do it better. But until then i'll stick with the animated show. At least they did right.

The story of Spawn is a good one. The first Spawn didn't work b/c they were trying to make money first and a good story 2nd. It sounded like they understood their mistake in the first one and were going to start completely over and act like the first one didn't exist. They planned to make an R rated movie and not try to cater to the masses. Now it looks like someone has stepped in and is redirecting this one more along the lines of the first. I guess we will see what happens, but I think the way make money is making a good movie first and the money will follow. By watering it down for teens to get into the theater, I think they are missing a great opportunity and in the long run costing themselves money.

Maybe they'll get all those cool bands who worked on the Spiderman soundtrack for this movie!

I think Spawn's moment of fame has passed. Does anyone over the age of 17 even read the comic anymore? It's sucked hard for years now. Besides, making a sequel 5-6 years down the line isn't exactly timely for a minor hit like "Spawn" is it?

Wow lets make another Spawn movie that true Spawn fans wont see AGAIN(as I pop in Spawn anime 3 disc rated R HBO set),when will these aholes learn,I guess they will when it bombs in the theater AGAIN.

Its kinda funny how the anime is Rated R with mass blood/gore/sex and the movie is PG-13 and all soft, you think it would be the other way around,oh well thats 10.50 in my pocket I dont have to spend.

And another thing Resident Evil is played by younger adults 13-18 range and that didnt stop the film industry makeing there movie Rated R and IMO turned out pretty damm good, now I know they can do the same with Spawn.

I know i quit reading at around issue 60. its been awhile. Though i reread the first three trade paperbacks quite often. Is it me or does Comic Book films fail more than they pass(i mean really why was the Red Skull Italian). I guess within the last 2 or 3 years they have been doing better, with the release of XMen and Spiderman. Whats going with Batman Year One anyway, anyone heard anything about that

isn't it true a PG-13 rating has wider audience than an R-rating?

Kinda off topic but are there plans to make more animated Spawn. Season 3's ending left on a cliffhanger.

I hope he goes to hell again. It would be nice for those Commodore 64 CG artists to get some more work.

I actually didn't mind Spawn that much. The choices for Spawn and the clown that Leguizamo played were decent. The only problem was that Spawn was so much more violent and disturbing. The basically made Spawn into a normal superhero.
Looks like I can file this one under D for Dead along with the new conan.
