Are you thinking of Rogue?
Was Jubilee in the first one? If Rogue was young in the first one, I am pretty sure Jubilee wasn't in that one.
But I haven't seen X1 in a long time, so....

They had 4 or 5 other XMen members in the classroom scene as well didn't they. IceMan,Colossus,and the one character with the flame ability whose name escapes me. I think they were thrown in there for fans of the comics. Kinda like Angela in the Spawn movie.

The kids I remember from the classroom scene in the first one were, as stated already, Iceman, Pyro, Jubilee, Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) and of course Rogue. Colussus was not in the first film but is supposed to be in X2. I am curious why they chose to make Pyro a good guy since, at least when I was a kid, Pyro was a villian.
And if that is Jubilee above they did a crappy job of casting. The girl who played her in the first one was perfect. My biggest problem with the X-Men films is them messing with the ages of the characters and their backgrounds. I mean c'mon, Iceman, Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Beast were the roginal X-Men along with Angel. But now Iceman is a kid????! What the?!!! Also in the comics wasn't Jubilee introduced when she found Wolverine crucified in the Australian desert?

Jubilee was introduced in UNCANNY X-MEN #244 -- where the "girls" -- Storm, Dazzler, Rogue, and Psylocke -- went shopping at a mall in California. Jubilee was following them around and was able to sneak back to their HQ in the Australian Outback.
She remained hidden in their HQ -- unbeknownst to the X-Men -- for some time. In the meantime, Storm was "killed" by Nanny, Rogue fought Master Mold and Betsy sent both of them off into the Seige Perilous. After a short excursion to the Savage Land involving Lorna Dane and Zaladane, the remaining X-Men -- Alex, Peter, Dazzler, and Betsy -- returned to the Outback. Betsy had a vision that the Reavers were coming to reclaim their headquarters and would kill them all, so she used the psychic powers to trick them into traveling through the Seige Perilous.
Wolverine, presumably off wilding in his own comic book, returned to an empty headquarters where he was promptly captured by Donald Pierce and the returned Reavers. Pierce crucified Wolverine to a large "X" in the desert for three days.
Jubliee had been hiding from the Reavers and witnessed Wolverine rip himself off of the "X." He turned to her and asked if she'd be willing to give him a hand.
Wolverine and Jubliee then sailed off together, away from Australia and to Japan. There they discovered Psylocke had emerged from the Siege Perilous as a Japanese woman/ninja babe who was in the employ of the old Iron Man villain The Mandarin.
Wolverine, Jubliee, and Psylocke then went on to have a few adventures before hooking up with the rest of the X-Men (at that time it was -- Banshee, Lorna Dane with the She-Hulk powers, Strong Guy, and Madrox) and the duo of Gambit and the newly little girl Storm -- to fight the big Genosha-based crossover "X-Tinction Agenda."
