Is this damn_guy dying or what???

All they keep showing is him getting wheeled into a ER room or something.

Thank god for TiVo... I can FF past this commercial all 700 times they play it daily.

Remember when Frasier didn't suck? That was pretty cool.

It seems to me that until now (the "serious Frazier" episodes), the show had turned into Three's Company, with week after week of misunderstandings, bad eavesdropping, and the like. That is why I stopped watching it a long time ago.

He has cancer - great situation for a comedy series, no? The promos completely suck too... something like "the event of his life" or something. If he is fighting to live, should it be more like "fight FOR his life"? I agree with das' comment. It beat Mary Tyler Moore's record, now this show can be cancelled.

Cancer?
They said he had something wrong with his heart, nothing about cancer.

Those NBC promos are unbearable. When did Frasier turn into ER?

Cancer.... are you serious?

I've had had to deal with cancer too much in my personal life... it's not like I need it in a sitcom.

Oh and by the way... I've never even watched/liked fraiser so I guess I'm not missing anything.

Fraiser has been very bad for a long time....i can't believe it is still on....the three's company comparison is apt - only that show was funny

Remember when you could actually call it "the smartest show on television" without immediately following it up with a ?

Frasier is in a desperate race with Friends to see whose show can turn to crap first. Somebody should tell Frasier that Friends won that race two years ago.

Safe to say that Frasier has offically "Jumped the shark." The show's been unwatchable for at least a season and a half and they are now deperate.

So I say this: Go gently into the night Fraiser, do not rage do not go boldly and do not negotiate for another season, go into the night...

Yeah but Kelsey Grammar is perhaps the smartest guy in Hollywood. How many of these idiot actors do you see leave TV to go to the movies only to see their careers take a nosedive. He has milked that character for all it is worth and now he gets $2M/episode for it. As long as NBC still wants Frasier and is willing to pay that much, Kelsey will keep doing it. I certainly don't blame him.

Well yeah, but he didn't give up Frasier to do that. Not like David Caruso and Jade.

Has Kelsey reached the 20 year mark with his portrayal of Fraiser yet?

He is getting into Gunsmoke/My Three Sons range for number of years portaying a television character.

And hasn't asking whether something has "jumped the shark" jumped the shark?

What's hard to believe is that he was only 28 when he started on Cheers in 1984. He looked like he was 40 back then.

Spoiler:
Yeah, the big scare lasted all of 1.33 episodes. A heart blockage, quick surgery, no complications, it seems.

Of course the NBC promotions department made it sound like he had an alien growing inside of him.
