A better look at how the Xbox is looking.

Interesting article that basically covers the losses the Xbox division has suffered the first year. However, I think this is more good news than bad for Microsoft. Revenues are up big time and they are still making billions as a corporation overall. The small losses (177 million is probably small to MS) are well worth it for the future profit the Xbox may bring them.
One thing this shows is how incredibly difficult it is to make an impact on this industry. I don't see how anyone other than Microsoft could spend the massive amounts of money it takes to get a foothold. In the long run it may pay off. One thing is for sure, the war between them and Sony will probably benefit us all in the meantime with lower prices and better software.

now that i own an xbox, i think it rocks!
the video game industry as a whole, looks very promising and i agree w/ others in the field that interactive entertainment is the future of literature (as movies were in the previous generation and today).
