Need Large entertainment center

I'm getting a sony 36 inch HDTV that is 40 inches wide and 30' tall. Most entertainment centers have a TV cavity that is about 34-38 inches in width. I dont want to spend 200 bucks on a tv stand from Sony. What I really want is a wall entertainment system that will hold that size TV. I've looked into the entertainment centers that are for projection TV's, but rather have a unit that can have the television sitting on it. Thanks.

you don't want to spend 200 on a stand but you'll spend 2,3,4, maybe 5 times that on a entertainment center??

I think it sucks too that most entertainment centers are for 32" TV's.

You might want to think about building one or having one built....

I bought a Sauder corner stand from wal-mart that fits in the corner, has space for a large TV on top, and it fits all my A/V equipment behind a glass door.

Or you can search for a flexy rack and make your own...

Mankal,

You're welcome! By the way, I purchased the Entertainment Center when it was on sale for $599.

I think what you are looking for is called an entertainment pier. At least the side units are called that.

Here is what I have my 36XBR400 on.

Not cheap but the best piece of furniture I have ever owned for home theater.

If you're near an Ikea they have a lot of options similar to what nshing posted, but for much cheaper.
