Spyro 4 - Enter the Dragonfly
Well, I just rented the new Spryro Game for the PS2/GameCube (rented the PS2 version). Some first impressions:
- seems really laggy/lots of slow down, very distracting and almost nauseating
- being able to switch between breath weapons is great, but... bubble breath? come on...
- they kept all of his classic moves and added a shielding move... not too sure about this one... doesn't seem too useful yet...
- they have changed the world style... instead of having one main world with portals to other worlds, and then you go to another main world etc... there seems to be only one main world and only about 10 other worlds.
- horrendously slow load times. it takes 1 level about a minute and a half to load up. boring...
I'm still not sure if i like this or not, definately needs some more play time...

The game got a 2.9 from GameSpot. The reviewer essentially said Universal was milking the name. What's even worse is this is the same team that worked on the previous Spyro's.
Oh well, probably the end of the series.

from SpyroHints.com:
It's also the first console Spyro not made by Spyro creators Insomniac

They made the fantastic Ratchet & Cank instead. Good decision on their part. That is one fun platformer!
