The Sopranos 11/17/02 - "The Strong Silent Type"
Just getting tonight's Sopanos thread going. Can't wait to see all of the paranoia inside the NJ mob getting into high gear with the recent disappearance of Ralphie.

Loved the intervention - Sopranos Style!
Tony's got some serious issues when animals are involved. He's definitely more empathetic towards animals than humans.
New York mob - It's Awnnnnn!
Don't like Carmela's new doo. Furio's a dead man or a forever a lonely man.
When Tony finds out what Paulie's done to his portrait with Pie-O-My, it will hit the fan, large and hard.

I loved Silvio's speech.
"...disgusting. I'm done."

I had a feeling when Christopher sat on the dog that this was going to be a comedic episode. Christopher and his new friend, "he's good people," the intervention, and Paulie and his foray into high art, made this the funniest episode ever. I thought it was funnier than "Pine Barrens." I am still laughing as I am typing this.

Good show.
Anyone have any guesses at what we'll see happen next week?
Looks like someone might get it.
Paulie might be in trouble. Whose side will he be on when the war comes with New York?
Carmella's still hot for Furio.
Will Christopher's abuse and dog-killing turn Ade against him?
Looks like Tony's world is falling apart.
(And, yes, the intervention was a riot. Even though I saw it coming -- how else could the intervention have ended?)

I agree Josh, as soon as they started setting it up I didnt think it would last long. Did anybody actually think they were gonna sit around and talk out their feelings?

continuity question--baseball?
One captain dead, one in rehab, one with loyalties to Carmine, one with loyalties to the Boss...
I have a question-- at the beginning of the episode, did the blond Russian say that the alderman was in Florida to watch the Mets in spring training? If so, it doesn't make sense that Paulie would have been watching a 2002 regular season game between the Sox and the Yankees with Napoleon Soprano looking over his shoulder.

I think the conversation between Rosalie and Carmella was the coolest part of this episode. It is one of the 1st times we get to see what the women REALLY talk about - never before have they discussed THEIR version of "goomahs".
