What movie should I see?

A local theater has The Godfather this week, and The Godfather II next week. These will play for one week only. It also is showing the restored Fritz Lang Metropolis, which will play for an unspecified run. So if I see the Godfather movies, I might miss Metropolis.

This is all good news. But I am only able to see zero or one movie a week, depending on how busy I am. So what movie should I see?

METROPOLIS - whenever, however possible. One of the truely great films of all time, a masterwork that has influenced at least a kazillion (ok, slight exaggeration) movies.

...and .... chances are much better that Godfather will make future appearances on the big screen.

Well, someone had to say it, so I'll do it...

Wait for the Criterion edition of Good Burger. It should include deleted scenes and a director's commentary to provide more insight into this cinematic masterpiece.

Um, I saw Godfather on Sunday. (I only got two votes before I left for the theater.) My reasoning was that I had seen Metropolis before on the big screen, but never Godfather. I wanted to see the fine detail in the dark cinematography. Not surprisingly, Godfather was better on the big screen.

If I get two days off next weekend, I'll try to see both Godfather II and Metropolis. If not, well, I'm still torn.

I'm going to check out Metropolis tomorrow night, i'm looking very forward to it. I was going to post a new thread to see if anyone else had a chance to check it out yet.
