Sounds about right. Hard to beat the hype of being a "first" movie in a series. Still a huge chunk of change. Half the people I know went to see it; we'll probably wait until middle of next week or so when the crowds are smaller.

It sure is. Fast and consistent results. They have a great box office predicting game as well called the box office derby. I'm currently ranked 148 out of 3000.

i think the original made like 91 opening weekend. and before spiderman, it was the highest grossing movie ever for an opening weekend. and i think fellowship of the rings made only like 60 opening week.

Fellowship made $47.2m on opening weekend - though it opened on a Wednesday and had something around $75 million from Wednesday to Monday.
Not bad at all - and I expect the sequel to topple that.

If it didn't show up you may have skipped a slot or put the same movie twice by accident which would void the entry, even though you get the submission confirmation email. Unfortunately, when you submit the form the server doesn't verify it for correctness, so you've got to double check it before sending. If you send it in and notice you f'd it up, you can resend it again and it will replace your previous entry. I didn't make the deadline this week for Potter, but I would've done pretty well too (even predicted the huge drop for 8 Mile) My nick is dpags from New York on the chart.
